HOW WE STARTED:
Our story begins after the devastating Uttarakhand Floods in June 2013. Our Founder & International Development Consultant Mr Farukh spontaneously headed to Uttarakhand to see how he could help. His intended one-week volunteer visit turned into months. During his visit, he witnessed the lack of expertise, resources and coordination in dealing with disasters. After his return, he founded Rapid Response, India’s first NGO established to deal with disasters.
WHERE WE ARE TODAY:
With the tireless support of our dedicated staff, board and volunteers, Rapid Response continue to respond to disasters across India. In the past 10 years, we have responded to 31 disasters and impacted over 1 million lives!
